Look into TiideLab with my eyes: A Transformative 7- Weeks Experience to kickstart your Software Engineering dream.

Introduction:

You won’t be told that embarking on a journey to learn Software Dev via joining a bootcamp can be an exhilarating and transformative experience which is why I'm doing it. For myself, a passionate individual seeking to dive into the world of Software Dev, the past seven weeks have been nothing short of a thrilling adventure. Through an intensive curriculum focusing on HTML, CSS, and JavaScript at the Pre Fellowship level of the TIIDELAB Program, I have grown from a novice to a confident developer with a solid foundation in web development. Let's delve into my captivating journey through the tech bootcamp.

Week 1:Onboarding Classes & Introduction to Brain Tasking Multichoice Questions (CCAT)

My journey started at this point when we had onboarding classes where our schedule of classes and curriculum of learning was made known to us and later on that week we actively started doing many of these activities which included the “Almighty CCAT” as many accepted applicants would eventually refer to it as. The CCAT test is a 7 or 8 minute timed quiz containing 10 questions which covers everything from Numerical test to Critical reasoning test and a few more. I actually found it quite interesting and was always eager for the next one the following week as I always scored in the 80% range upwards.

Week 2: Laying the Foundation with HTML

My journey continued with an immersive introduction to HTML, the building block of the web. I quickly grasped the fundamental concepts, learning how to structure web content using semantic tags, creating headings, paragraphs, and lists. TIIDELAB provided hands-on exercises, challenging me to build my first personal portfolio, incorporating images and hyperlinks. The week concluded with a sense of accomplishment as I confidently defended a personal portfolio website built using my newly learnt HTML skills.

Week 3: Styling the Web with CSS

In the third week, I delved into the world of CSS, breathing life into my portfolio pages. The bootcamp curriculum covered selectors, properties, and values, enabling me to transform the appearance of my webpages. Learning about box model, layout techniques, and responsive design, I gained the ability to create visually appealing and user-friendly web interfaces. With the completion of each stage of the portfolio project, I witnessed the power of CSS firsthand, igniting my passion for design.

Week 4: Introduction to Data Analysis & Personal Branding

This was a very interactive class as the instructor was quite explanatory and we got into the meaning of the Data Analysis and other components and then we had the Personal Branding class which was also really good and educative as we all had to do a little rebranding.

The Personal Branding class made us understand better how we are viewed from the professional eye and lots more.

Week 5: Interactive Experiences with JavaScript

As I progressed into the fifth week, the focus shifted towards JavaScript, the language that brings interactivity to the web. Here, I embarked on a thrilling adventure, diving into the world of variables, functions, conditionals, and loops. I discovered the potential of JavaScript through engaging exercises and projects. I developed dynamic features like form validation, image sliders, and interactive elements, realizing the importance of JavaScript in creating rich user experiences.

Week 6: Integrating Technologies and Building Projects

With a solid foundation in HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, I entered the sixth week of the bootcamp, where I explored the art of integrating these technologies. I learned about responsive web design, media queries, ensuring my projects looked stunning on various devices. Collaborating with fellow participants, I took part in team projects, and we built a budget planning website. This experience enhanced my communication skills and taught me the significance of teamwork in the tech industry.

Week 7: Reflection and Final Projects

In the concluding week, I embarked on a journey of reflection and consolidation.TIDELAB provided mentorship and constructive feedback, helping me further refine my skills and make improvements. This has been one of the most challenging period for me as I've had to juggle working my construction job and also upskilling & learning at TIIDELAB. I’m grateful for the mentors I've had from Mr Shams!! (Oga mi Sir) to Mr Ariyibi, Mr Dammy Bells (he teaches so well bro!), UncleBigBay! And every other mentor/teacher I had here. Y’all made it a fun ride and yeah i'm part of the finalists!

Okay that’s my time @TiideLab. Thank you.
